IndiGo has officially launched commercial operations at Noida International Airport, becoming the first airline to offer scheduled passenger services from the new aviation hub in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh. The milestone marks a major step forward for air connectivity across the National Capital Region (NCR) and western Uttar Pradesh.

On June 15, the inaugural flight arrived from Lucknow and officially brought the long-awaited airport into commercial service. At the same time, the launch opened a new chapter for one of India’s largest greenfield airport developments.

Expanding Connectivity Across NCR

IndiGo plans to connect Noida International Airport to 16 destinations through a phased network rollout. Lucknow became the first city on the route map, while additional services will strengthen links between NCR and key domestic markets across the country.

Furthermore, the airport provides the region with a third commercial aviation gateway. It will also help ease pressure on Delhi’s existing airport infrastructure. As a result, travellers across Noida, Greater Noida, western Uttar Pradesh, and neighbouring regions can expect improved accessibility and greater travel options.

A Major Milestone For Regional Aviation

The launch of Noida International Airport marks an important infrastructure milestone for Uttar Pradesh. In addition to handling passenger traffic, the airport will support logistics, trade, and economic growth across the region.

Meanwhile, authorities continue to develop the wider transport network around Jewar. New road links and supporting infrastructure will improve access to the airport while strengthening connections across the NCR. Together, these developments position the airport as a key driver of regional growth.

What Comes Next

With IndiGo now operating from Noida International Airport, the next phase of expansion is already taking shape. Additional airlines are expected to launch services in the coming months, while new routes will continue to expand the airport’s reach.

As connectivity grows, the airport is set to become an important gateway for both business and leisure travellers. Ultimately, the project will play a significant role in shaping the future of aviation across northern India.
