DS Group brings W Hotels to Delhi NCR through a new partnership with Marriott International. The project will deliver a 200-room luxury hotel near Indira Gandhi International Airport, close to Aerocity. DS Group plans to invest roughly ₹400 crore in the development.
The hotel is scheduled to open in the second half of 2027. This marks the first time DS Group brings W Hotels to Delhi NCR, and it will become only the brand’s second India property, after Goa. The project involves converting the existing Uppal’s Orchid on NH8 into the brand’s design-led style.
A Design-Led Bet on a Competitive Market
Rajiv Kumar, vice chairman of DS Group, said India’s hospitality sector is riding a strong growth wave. He pointed to rising domestic travel and a shortage of premium supply as key drivers behind the investment. Kumar said the project sets a new benchmark for design-led luxury in one of India’s most competitive markets.
Marriott International shares that view. Kiran Andicot, the company’s senior vice president for South Asia, said the signing reflects Marriott’s continued expansion in India. He called it a bold new expression of luxury for the Delhi NCR market, tailored to shifting traveller preferences.

Part of a Bigger Hospitality Push
DS Group entered the hospitality sector 25 years ago and currently operates six properties. The company plans to grow that portfolio significantly, targeting 10 to 12 hotels by fiscal year 2029. That expansion would take its room count from around 900 keys today to roughly 2,000 keys, backed by an investment of about $105 million.
The Delhi NCR project also strengthens Marriott’s broader push into India’s premium segment. The W brand’s arrival adds a lifestyle-driven alternative to a market long dominated by traditional luxury formats, targeting both business and leisure travellers passing through one of India’s busiest gateway cities.
