IHG Hotels & Resorts has unveiled Kimpton Bali Ubud, its first Kimpton property in Indonesia. Officially named Kimpton Suntaya Bali Ubud, the hotel opens later this year. It marks the lifestyle brand’s debut in the country.
A New Landmark for Ubud
Kimpton Bali Ubud sits on Jalan Bisma, near the Ubud Art Market. Guests can walk to the historic Ubud Palace and Water Palace in minutes. The property brings Kimpton’s signature blend of intuitive service and design-forward spaces to Bali.
Rooms, Dining and Wellness at Kimpton Bali Ubud
The resort offers 101 rooms and suites, including private pool villas. The hotel features five dining venues. Imamura Ubud leads the culinary line-up, an omakase restaurant by Michelin-starred chef Hirofumi Imamura.
Wellness runs through the guest experience. A two-storey fitness studio anchors the movement offerings. Contrast-therapy recovery facilities support guests seeking active recovery. Sakshi Spa draws on Balinese healing traditions to restore body and mind.

Leadership Behind the Launch
Austin Jones is General Manager of Kimpton Suntaya Bali Ubud. He has worked at nearly a dozen Kimpton properties worldwide. Jones now leads the brand’s entry into the Indonesian market.
“Kimpton Suntaya is designed to feel open, soulful and connected,” said Jones. He added that the hotel aims to become a vibrant gathering place. Guests and locals alike can experience Bali there.

Design Inspired by Balinese Tradition
Denton Corker Marshall designed the hotel to follow Ubud’s natural contours. The architecture draws inspiration from Balinese ceremonial processions. It reflects rhythm, movement and collective energy throughout its structure.
IHG plans to open additional Kimpton properties this year across four cities. New properties will launch in Adelaide, New York, Rotterdam and Shanghai. These openings continue Kimpton’s rapid global growth under IHG’s luxury portfolio.
