The luxury hotel brand returns to the Philippine capital with a new landmark property overlooking Ayala Triangle Gardens.
Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group will return to the Philippine capital in late 2026 with the opening of Mandarin Oriental Makati Manila, marking the brand’s comeback to the city after a 12-year absence.
Rising above Ayala Triangle Gardens in Makati, Manila’s leading financial and lifestyle district, the new hotel is set to become one of the city’s most anticipated luxury hospitality openings. The property will feature 275 guestrooms and suites inspired by Filipino craftsmanship. Designers will incorporate natural materials, woven textures, and artisanal details throughout the interiors. Floor-to-ceiling windows will maximise natural light, while entry-level rooms will start from a generous 50 sqm. Club-level guests will enjoy access to the Mandarin Oriental Club Lounge as well as personalised benefits, including 24-hour butler service.

Accommodation and facilities
Beyond its guestrooms and suites, Mandarin Oriental Makati Manila will introduce an extensive wellness floor, an outdoor swimming pool, and five dining and bar concepts. The hotel will also focus heavily on meetings and events. A collection of flexible venues will cater to corporate gatherings, conferences, weddings, and private celebrations. One of the property’s standout features will be the Grand Hall. The venue will accommodate up to 1,000 guests and strengthen Makati’s position as a destination for large-scale events and business meetings.
A significant return to Manila
The opening carries particular significance for Mandarin Oriental. The group operated one of Manila’s landmark hotels from 1976 until 2014, and many travellers have eagerly anticipated its return. For the brand, Mandarin Oriental Makati Manila represents more than a new hotel opening. It marks the revival of a long-standing presence in the city and reinforces the group’s commitment to the Philippine market.
Part of a wider Southeast Asia expansion
The launch also forms part of Mandarin Oriental’s broader expansion strategy across Southeast Asia. At the same time, it reflects growing confidence in Manila’s appeal as both a business and leisure destination. As international demand continues to grow, Mandarin Oriental Makati Manila is poised to become a major addition to the city’s luxury hospitality landscape and one of the region’s most closely watched hotel openings.
