Bengaluru’s hospitality market has a new owner to watch. Himalia has acquired a 4.65-acre eco resort on the edge of the city, taking full control of Our Native Village near the Hesaraghatta grasslands. It’s a telling move: Himalia acquires the Bengaluru eco resort not as a one-off buy, but as the opening chapter of a much larger South India play, backed by Jupiter Capital’s capital and conviction.

The location does a lot of the talking. Close enough to Central Bengaluru to pull city traffic, far enough to still feel like an escape, the resort has the kind of positioning that investors circle for years before something like this comes up for sale.

Where the ₹25 Crore Goes

The numbers tell their own story: twenty-four keys today, spread across 3 of the site’s 4.65 acres, with another 1.65 acres sitting idle and full of potential. Himalia plans to spend at least ₹25 crore over the next two years closing that gap and pushing the resort to 40 keys while reworking infrastructure and guest experience along the way. Niraamaya Life, the wellness operator, steps in to run things day to day.

The Bigger Bet

CEO Vamsi Sai frames it less as a transaction and more as a thesis: hospitality’s future belongs to properties that put nature and wellbeing first. He’s betting Bengaluru and the wider South Indian market have room for a lot more of that.

Three Resorts, One Direction

This Bengaluru buy joins a 31-key resort in Kovalam and a 27-key property in Kumarakom, early pieces of what Himalia says will eventually include branded residences, farmhouses and standalone wellness resorts over the next three to four years.

For Himalia, Bengaluru marks the beginning of a broader push into South India’s wellness travel sector. The next few deals should show how fast that ambition scales.
