Gaya-Bangkok flights will launch with IndiGo from 26 October 2026, creating a new direct link between Bihar and Thailand. The airline will operate the route twice a week, every Monday and Thursday. Flight 6E1083 will depart Gaya at 1:15pm and arrive in Bangkok at 5:50pm. The return flight, 6E1084, will leave Bangkok at 10:15am and reach Gaya at 12:15pm. All timings follow local time. The schedule remains subject to regulatory approvals.

Connecting Two Buddhist Destinations
The new Gaya-Bangkok flights will connect two destinations with strong Buddhist ties. Gaya provides access to Bodh Gaya, one of Buddhism’s most important pilgrimage sites. The Mahabodhi Temple attracts pilgrims and visitors from around the world. Thailand also has deep Buddhist traditions and a large community of Buddhist travellers. The direct service will make travel between the two destinations easier for pilgrims, tourists and leisure travellers.

Supporting Bihar’s Tourism Growth
The new route will also support Bihar’s growing tourism ecosystem. Direct international connectivity can benefit local hotels, transport providers and other travel businesses. Thailand remains a popular international destination for Indian travellers. IndiGo currently operates more than 140 weekly flights between India and Thailand. The airline connects Bangkok with Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Bhubaneswar. It also serves Phuket and Krabi from several Indian cities. Gaya will add another important point to this network.

Strengthening India-Thailand Connectivity
The Gaya service strengthens IndiGo’s wider international expansion while giving Bihar a new gateway to Southeast Asia. The route will support tourism, cultural exchange and economic activity between the two markets. It also gives travellers from Thailand easier access to Bodh Gaya and the wider Buddhist circuit. For Bihar, the new international connection could help attract more visitors and strengthen the state’s position on India’s growing tourism map.
