Qatar Airways has launched a new triangular route linking Doha with Bogota and Caracas. Flight QR783 began operations on July 22. The service revives plans first announced in January 2025, which were delayed by a year.
A Historic First for a Gulf Carrier
Qatar Airways is now the first Gulf carrier to serve Venezuela. It is also the first Middle Eastern airline to fly to both Bogota and Caracas. The two cities become Qatar Airways’ 15th and 16th destinations across the Americas.

Twice-Weekly Service on an Ultra-Long-Haul Route
The route operates every Wednesday and Sunday using a Boeing 777-200LR. QR783 departs Doha at 7.30am and lands in Bogota at 4.05pm. It continues on to Caracas before returning nonstop to Doha. The Doha-Bogota sector alone covers 8,261 miles and takes over 16 hours, making it one of Qatar Airways’ longest routes.
Filling a Gap in South American Connectivity
Sao Paulo has been Qatar Airways’ only South American destination until now. The new route opens direct access between the Gulf and northern South America. It reduces reliance on stopovers through Europe or North America for travellers moving between the two regions.
