A Phased Growth Plan
IndiGo initially operates 36 air traffic movements from the brand-new greenfield hub. The airline expects to reach 79 daily departures within just a few months. Fourteen of those eventual routes will specifically serve new international destinations from Navi Mumbai.
NMIA can currently handle roughly 20 million passengers annually in its initial operating phase. That capacity is set to grow substantially to 90 million passengers once fully complete. Air India Express and Akasa Air also launched competing services from the very same new hub.

Mumbai’s existing airport has long struggled visibly with congestion, delays and limited slot availability. NMIA gives the wider region a second facility genuinely built for future passenger demand.
