Riyadh Air has launched its new Riyadh-Mumbai route. Daily Boeing 787-9 flights began on August 4, 2026. The Riyadh-Mumbai route marks one of the airline’s most significant additions this year. It strengthens ties between Saudi Arabia and India’s largest financial hub.

A Fast-Growing Network Takes Shape

Riyadh Air launched commercial operations earlier this year. Since then, it has expanded quickly across key regional markets. The Riyadh-Mumbai route joins new services to Dhaka, Islamabad and Lahore. Together, these additions push the airline’s network to nine destinations.

Targeting Business and Labour Travel Corridors

The Riyadh-Mumbai route serves large expatriate and labour markets in Saudi Arabia. It also strengthens Riyadh’s position as a connecting hub. Passengers gain smoother links between Asia and the Middle East. Business travellers and visiting friends and relatives traffic both stand to benefit.

Ambitious Growth Plans Ahead

Riyadh Air aims to reach 22 destinations by March 2027. The airline eventually plans to serve over 100 international cities. This expansion follows a major order for Airbus A350-1000 aircraft. The carrier also exercised options for 28 additional Boeing 787s recently.

Regulatory Approvals Signal Wider Ambitions

Riyadh Air recently secured approval to launch flights to Beijing and Shanghai. It also gained authority to begin operations to the United States. These approvals point to a rapidly globalising network strategy. The Riyadh-Mumbai route represents an early step in that broader vision.
