The Marriott Outdoor Collection has added its first new brand since launching last year. RESET Hotel in Twentynine Palms, California, joins the portfolio now, with the announcement confirmed on 27 July 2026. The addition marks a significant expansion for Marriott’s nature-focused hospitality segment, which has grown steadily since its debut.
A Rare New Build Near Joshua Tree
The Marriott Outdoor Collection’s RESET sits on 180 acres of protected high desert landscape, just minutes from Joshua Tree National Park’s north entrance. The property holds a notable distinction within the local hospitality scene too, standing as the first hotel built from scratch in Twentynine Palms in over 15 years. That scarcity gives it real weight among design-conscious travellers seeking something genuinely new.

Design That Blurs Indoor and Outdoor Living
The 65-room hotel blends architecture directly into its desert surroundings, with every guest room including a private patio fitted with a Solo Stove fire pit. Daybeds and dedicated stargazing platforms complete each outdoor space, while interiors lean on natural textures and expansive views of the landscape beyond.
Wellness Sits at the Property’s Core
Guests can access a saltwater pool alongside a jacuzzi and sauna, with a cold plunge pool rounding out the property’s wellness-focused amenities. Communal fire pits encourage guests to gather outdoors after dark. The Celestron telescopes support the hotel’s dedicated stargazing programming for those keen to make the most of the clear desert skies.

Expanding Marriott’s Reach Into Outdoor Hospitality
RESET joins founding Outdoor Collection partners Postcard Cabins and Trailborn, strengthening a portfolio built around immersive, nature-first stays. Diana Plazas-Trowbridge, Marriott’s chief lodging product officer, called RESET a perfect fit. Marriott Bonvoy members can now earn and redeem points at RESET directly. This addition reflects broader traveller demand for nature-focused, design-forward stays that Marriott expects to keep growing across similar destinations.
