What the Partnership Covers
The MOU expands the airlines’ current codeshare agreement across both networks. It also explores terminal co-location for smoother connections between the carriers. Loyalty programme cooperation features as a key area under discussion.
Both airlines will assess extending the partnership to other group carriers over time. This includes potential future cooperation with flyadeal and Air India Express specifically. The phased structure allows the relationship to deepen gradually rather than all at once.

Why This Corridor Matters
The India-Saudi Arabia aviation corridor ranks among the busiest in the region. Business travel, religious pilgrimage, tourism and a large Indian diaspora all drive that demand. Greater cooperation between the two carriers should widen options across this route network.
Air India has expanded its alliance network significantly since privatisation in 2022. The airline now maintains 25 codeshare partnerships and more than 120 interline agreements. This latest MOU adds further depth to an already growing global network.
Codeshares rarely make headlines on their own. This one matters because of just how much traffic already moves between these two countries.
