ITC Hotels acquires WelcomHotel Ahmedabad. The group has announced plans to acquire a 100 per cent stake in GHK Hospitality and Infrastructure, which owns Welcomhotel Ahmedabad. ITC Hotels currently operates this property under an existing services agreement.

This acquisition will add a 130-room hotel to ITC Hotels’ owned asset portfolio. Welcomhotel Ahmedabad is located on Ashram Road, overlooking the Sabarmati Riverfront, and is near Ahmedabad International Airport and the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Positioning for Ahmedabad’s Growth

Ahmedabad ranks among India’s top eight urban economies. It is one of India’s top eight urban economies, supported by major corporations and nearby industrial corridors such as Dholera, GIFT City, and Sanand. ITC Hotels stated that this acquisition enhances its owned portfolio in the city across multiple hospitality segments and price points.

Leadership Weighs In

The Director of ITC Hotels called the deal another milestone in the company’s growth plans. He said the hotel adds an owned property in one of India’s fastest-growing urban centres. He pointed to the hotel’s prime location, established brand positioning and steady occupancy as reasons the deal should improve yields and cash flow over time.

Broader Expansion Strategy

The Ahmedabad acquisition follows ITC Hotels’ recent purchase of The Zuri Kumarakom, a luxury resort and spa in Kerala. These transactions reflect the company’s active efforts to grow its owned hotel portfolio across both business and leisure markets. itchotels.com
