SriLankan Airlines Signs Interline Agreement With Maldivian
SriLankan Airlines has signed a new interline agreement with Island Aviation Services, operating as Maldivian. The deal gives passengers access to 17 domestic destinations in the Maldives. Travellers can now book both carriers under a single electronic ticket.

Seamless Connections Through Malé and Gan
The agreement covers inbound and outbound travel via Velana International Airport in Malé and Gan International Airport on Gan Island. SriLankan Airlines operates three daily flights to Malé and two weekly flights to Gan. Dimuthu Tennakoon, Head of Commercial, called the partnership a milestone in expanding the airline’s regional footprint and enhancing travel convenience.
Opening Up the Archipelago
Nayomi Tennakoon, Maldives Manager for SriLankan Airlines, said the interline partnership opens the airline’s global network to many domestic destinations through a single, seamless itinerary. The arrangement benefits leisure and business travellers seeking efficient transfers within the Maldives, extending reach beyond the main gateway airports.
A Wider Network Play
SriLankan Airlines connects passengers to 130 destinations across 63 countries, including through codeshare partnerships, and serves 33 main online destinations directly. The airline said the move will also create new opportunities for travel agents, tour operators and corporate travel planners by simplifying bookings across its expanded regional network.
